Tenth Square Advisory

Business and investment consulting. A company raising capital, an owner selling, an investor buying: each is asking the same question first, what is this worth? That is where we start.

What we do

We advise on the decisions that turn on a number: raising capital, selling a company, buying one. Every engagement begins with an independent valuation, done to the same standard as the work we publish. The valuation sets the strategy; the rest of the engagement is carrying it out.

For businesses

  • Raising capital. We value the business, prepare the information memorandum an investor will actually read, shortlist funders suited to the size and the sector, make the approach, and support the negotiation through to terms.
  • Selling the business. We value it, prepare the numbers and the story for a buyer's scrutiny, run a quiet search for credible buyers, and manage diligence and negotiation through to signing.
  • Knowing where you stand. A written appraisal with every assumption stated: for a transaction, a dispute, a partner's entry or exit, succession, or your own planning.

For investors

  • Buying a business. We define the brief with you, source candidates, value them, dig into the accounts and the industry, and negotiate the price on the strength of that work.
  • Putting money to work. We assess the opportunities already in front of you, or find ones that fit the brief, and say plainly when nothing does.

A deal is only as good as the price you do it at. The price is only as good as the work behind it.

What an engagement produces

  • A written valuation. The value, the range around it, the assumptions and the sensitivities, on paper and defensible.
  • The case. An information memorandum or investment case built from the valuation, not from adjectives.
  • The shortlist. The funders or buyers worth approaching, with the reasoning for each.
  • The position. A negotiation plan: the walk-away price, the terms that matter, and the ones that do not.

How we work

Tell us the situation

What you have, what you want, and by when.

We scope it in writing

What we will do, what it costs, and what it does not cover, before anyone starts.

We value it, independently

The number comes first, argued from the evidence, not shaded to please whoever is paying.

We help you act

Find the funder, find the buyer, run the diligence, hold the line in the negotiation. You decide.

Start a conversation

Write to us. A line or two about the situation is enough.

Engagements are taken on under a written agreement, on terms agreed in advance. We advise one side of a transaction, never both. A first conversation carries no obligation.
